With the digital craze still afoot, web marketers are continually searching for ways to enhance business for clients and users alike. We’ve talked a great deal about the recent marketing statistics regarding Facebook and the impact it could have on business in the near future. While Facebook is great and will continue to be a powerful marketing tool for businesses in the next few years, video is equally important.
Video is becoming increasingly important in the world of web marketing as a whole. In fact, a recent study conducted by Net Pop Research indicates that Internet users are more satisfied with YouTube than Facebook or any other online media platform.
The research found that 50% of Internet users were satisfied with YouTube to the point that they would recommend it to other users. This is a big deal! Word-of-mouth recommendations are still one of the most, if not the most effective form of marketing in existence.
Even Facebook, which is the most widely used social media platform online trailed the video sharing network. It came in second with 36% of users indicating that they would recommend it to others. Third place went to Groupon with 33%.
From CEOs to stay-at-home moms, people across the gamut like videos. eMarketer, has produced recent statistics showing that most CEOs would prefer to watch a video offering product info rather than read information about products.
According to eMarketer, in 2011 there is projected to be an 18% increase in video marketing campaigns among the top 50 retailers online. To really drive this point, take into account the fact that Google ranks websites with videos on them higher than those that don’t have video. Including videos into your marketing campaign seems to be beneficial overall.
Why? Because people like YouTube and this gives you an opportunity to create company videos that could potentially go viral. Videos allow you to interact on a personal level with your potential clients and give you the ability to reach thousands on YouTube and Facebook alike. You want to be a successful marketer? Find ways to reach your target audience by finding out where they “like” to go.
People like video. Create videos that people will like. You will be glad you did.
